Knittedshadow's journal is f-locked and I've been waiting after commenting, but I haven't been friended back yet and it has been awhile. I was wondering if anyone has copies of her stories, especially the deaf story. Although I do want to read all of her stories, I love disability stories.

I think I saw it become more of a question from those with f-locked only journals when a lot of authors realized that more people were saving their work in order to read them on e-readers now instead of online. I'll admit that the majority of my reading now is done strictly on my nook because it's so much easier on my eyes! (I have to use the computer a lot, so having that break is great.)

I know a few authors even uploaded copies of their files in e-reader formats, though for some reason they were removed with other fics from the 4shared account. I believe the mods here were looking into starting another account that they can monitor better, though I'm not sure where they are in that process.

I think you lucked out if this is your first fandom. :) I wish my older fandoms were as organized about searching for lost fics as this one is. A few others came close, but didn't have the following that getithere does on the ability of getting answers to questions. Sadly, I've been through a lot of fandoms over the years and seen a lot of fanfics taken down for a variety of reasons. (I knew several authors that once they jumped fandom, they would delete anything that linked them to the old one.)

I agree. The fandom is great, and this community is incredible. All the more reason to show respect. And when a writer locks his/her journal, he or she has a reason to do it, and we can take it or leave it. The mods here are doing a very fine job, you're so right.
In the case of the question of the OP, I decided to ask the author.
What you said about the ereader: I second this. Before I bought my first iPad, I had no idea....but once I noticed how easier it is to read here, I barely go back to the computer.

Which is why I said it was a question that was impossible to answer because there are so many variables involved. In this case, if the author is still active and around then contacting would be the best option, but sometimes that's not the case.

I haven't read anything by this author before, but I'll admit to being curious now.
