Justin has surgery

I've been searching for over a week for this story but to no avail. Justin and Brian are together, post 513 and Justin has to have surgery either on his hand or brain for his motor control issues I believe. Gus is older and his dad's reaction seem to throw him.

I'm sure this is the worst summary ever, but I've read and reread stories this week that I've not read in over a year and while the trips and rereads were fabulous, I'm still stuck on this story. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

The only story I think of that might fit is [livejournal.com profile] vamphile's Keeping series. Justin has brain surgery in California or Washington. I don't recall which fic in the series has this part and I also don't recall anything in particular about Gus.

I'm reading Keeping series now, Justin's surgery is in New York. He got diagnosed in San Francisco. Gus doesn't figure in that, only that we find out in those chapters why Brian was mad at Michael with regards to Gus.

In Growing Up Kinney, Gus was pissed thinking that Brian didn't want Justin to have surgery for his sight, not knowing the reason Brian didn't want Justin to have it.

I totally didn't remember his surgery was in New York. I thought that whole Gus thing was downplayed way too much. And I would never, ever, ever in a bajillion years have spoken to Michael again. Ever.

I was just sure he had surgery in Washington. Oh! Okay, there's a crossover with Grey's Anatomy by qaffangyrl. I think. Lemme go look... yup. Queer as Seattle Grace (http://qaffangyrl.livejournal.com/1946.html#cutid1). There's brain surgery, but I don't know about Gus. She writes good fics, so the OP will enjoy, I'm sure.

I concur on Growing Up Kinney, linked to in a comment above. I won't give too much away, but Justin is in the hospital at one point and Brian is just kind of... blank, and Gus freaks out on him.

He also has surgery in The Gus Diaries, also mentioned, but the way Brian reacts doesn't upset Gus.

But his hospital stay in Growing Up Kinney is completely unrelated to his hand or his motor issues. The reason why is really the main plot of the story.

Could it be the story where Gus is older and Lindsay asked Gus to stay with his Dad while Justin has surgery on his lung?Gus is kind of freaked out about it and then Brian asks Gus to help with Justin during his recovery?

Growing up Kinney, I don't think I'd ever read. Working on it now, but it's not ringing bells.

Keeping Series, I've read, but it's going to need to be re-read cause I'm not remembering it well enough right now.

I've read the Seattle Grace and LOVED it, but that's not it.

Look after Me that was rec'd by BendaBrenda was very close, but not quite.

I know, I know, I'm a picky wench, but can't help it.

Yep, I'm fairly certain that's the one. I love it. Gus doesn't get completely freaked out but that was the one that I was thinking of because I remember Brian falling apart. The thing is, I think maybe I might be meshing this one with another though, because I thought that Justin didn't come through as well/easily as he did in this one.

HMM? Who knows. Maybe in my messed up mind I've mixed 2 together and in the other Justin didn't even have surgery, but was just sick. Didn't Brian freak in the one where Justin picked up meningitis from Daphne?
