I can't recommend one--I find it hard to imagine that there are any others--so instead I'll recommend a similar story.

For the Love of Kai (http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1124&warning=10) by Snow is an active WIP in which Justin and Brian rebuild their relationship while caring for Justin's young half-brother, Kai, who has autism. I like the care Snow has put into creating an accurate protrayal of Kai's autism and of Justin's frustrations trying to help him.

Not too long ago I was curious about that as well, so I did some searching. While I found a title of a fanfic, it's my understanding that particular story is no longer posted. I attempted to contact that author about it, but I haven't received a response.

It's always appropriate to post a link to a fic you're referencing because nearly always, if you don't, someone will ask for it. ;)

Just so you know, though, this particular fic caused a fuck ton of drama in fandom after it was posted and many authors removed their fics from MW and bjfic.net in protest when it was allowed to stay up on those archives, so there may be some who don't respond positively to this fic.

I know authors in all fandoms put characters in every situation under the sun and give them every disease and malady in the medical texts, but there are two very definite camps regarding this fic.

Some think it's fabulous and cite it as a favorite; others are horrified and think it crossed an inviolable line and turned Brian into a pedophile since Justin can't give actual consent. There were several people who have children or siblings who are autistic who were livid and hurt that anyone would write or champion a fic about crossing this boundary.

As mysid says, it's kinda hard to imagine other similar fic. There's one where Justin is mute (by choice, maybe? I've never read it), that might work for your request, but I don't know the title or author.

I, for one, love that fic. Being autistic doesn't mean being mentally impaired. Some of them have intellectually disabilities to some degree, but a lot of them are actually really smart, even smarter than the average for non autistic people.

The main problem with autism is the communication with the outside world. But they can learn to communicate nonetheless, specially if they are high functioning. And in this fic, Justin is completely capable to communicate his wants and needs, in his own personal way. And he wants Brian, and he needs to leave the hospital.

Why is it that 'normal' people think they can state who is allowed to fall in love and who isn't? Love is something that cannot be controled. Justin KNOWS what he wants in this story, and Brian reacts outstandingly to every situation.

I think 'Kiss Me Alright' is a beautiful story. A story that shows us an amazing inner world full of beauty and magic. A really lovely look into how an autistic mind could work.

There's a movie, 'Miracle Run', that shows two high functioning autistics and how they learn to communicate with the outside world. One of them even falls in love. Considering it's based in a real story, I think it shall be acurate enough, right? Watching that movie and reading 'Kiss Me Alright', I don't think there's such a difference between what's told in the fic and the real thing.

I can understand, however, why this fic caused such a reaction in the fandom. I understand why someone would think it's sick. But I stick to my opinion. ;-)

Again, I recommend the amazing 'For the Love of Kai'. It's a beautiful story. :-)

Greetings from Spain! ^^

Hey! Thanks for the info. I read it a long time ago but of course, it was unfinished. I'm so glad to see the ending to it.

I loved this fic! I thought it was done in a respectful and thought-provoking way.

I felt sorry for the author that people gave her such a hard time. I would think that, especially in QAF fandom, people wouldn't support censorship and would try to co-exist peacefully.

Anyway, good rec. I'm glad that more people might have a chance to read this creative and touching fic!

If people take issue with your reccing it, I hope they do what everyone should've done with the fic in the first place: If they don't like it, just move along!

Most people seem to think KMA is the only story of this type, but I distinctly remember another in which Justin had Autism, and worked for Brian at Kinnetik. He had an old blue sweater he always wore. It was unfinished and I don't think I've come across it in several years.

As far as drama goes, KMA is probably my favorite fic ever. I also have a sibling with cognitive disability and I'm very active in the disability community. While there's a few things about the fic I found a little politically incorrect from this standpoint, I think it's always wonderful for characters with disabilities to be portrayed with sexual autonomy and self-determination in their adult lives. Too often this community is infantilized, and I think there's actually a great lesson to take away from this story.

This also seems like a good opportunity to mention that if anyone in this fandom is an advocate for gay rights but still says "retard" in their day-to-day lives, then it's time to rethink some things.
