Pre-series Joan-centric

Hi all

I'm looking for a fic I read a while back that was at least semi sympathetic to Joan. It described how she got to know Jack, how she coped (or didn't) with her marriage and with raising Brian and Claire. It sticks in my mind because I remember it being very well written and I loved that the author had tried to explain - though not excuse - Joan's behaviour instead of just demonising her.
