I read this story a really really long time ago, and I'm pretty sure it was on BJFic.Net, so I'm hoping someone has a copy or the author has an LJ or other website.
If I recall correctly, Brian and Justin lived together in a house and [I believe] had two young daughters. Brian has apparently been off at war. Justin looks out the window and sees a car pull up in the driveway, and two men in suits getting out. He assumes they're coming to tell him that Brian died in combat, so he sends the girls away. Then he sees Brian get out of the backseat of the car. He returned home from war because of an injury. Well apparently, Ben was also a soldier, but he died in front of Brian's eyes, and Brian was traumatized by this. He develops some PTSD symptoms and shuts down emotionally. I think he and Justin even end up sleeping in different rooms. I also remember Brian telling Justin he could bring other guys home with him because Brian couldn't be intimate and meet Justin's needs. I think there was a scene in which Justin actually did this. It was pretty angsty, and I don't even know if it was finished.
I may be mixing stories up, so anything similar will do!

Date: 2010-06-03 09:42 pm (UTC)Sorry, I don't think I read that one, or I would have probably gotten a case of PTSD myself from reading it!
Of course, if you do find it, I will probably end up peeking at it ;-)
I do remember something where Brian has PTSD, but I don't think it was an AU and definitely no daughters. I'll be back with a link if I think of it.

Date: 2010-06-04 03:48 am (UTC)Okay, I just read it and it's
It may possibly be the worst B/J fic I have ever read, I think I may nominate it for crack!fic over at IJ, I mean really!
The thing is, the author completely disregards and doesn't address any thought at all to the real world and gay people serving in the military. Jeebus, we still don't have a full on repeal of DADT, just another promise to review the findings.
I'm sorry, but on a scale of 1-10, this one rates a minus. On a positive note, the chapters are very short. :D

Date: 2010-06-04 03:54 am (UTC)And yeah, in the first chapter when Michael and Ben meet up in the airport and Ben gives him a huge kiss. I'm assuming Ben is in his uniform when this happens. If that's so, that kiss wouldn't have taken place in a crowded airport, that's for sure.
Oh well...

Yeah, being a military spouse is hard work...especially when you have to live off-base because the military doesn't recognize same sex marriage, HELLO!!! Sorry, I was in the Navy, and I got married while still enlisted, and being away is hard (six months for me). I can and have read some cracktastic fic, but at least get the details right!
