You've read Myrna's "If You Needed Me," right? It's on paddies's site if not.

How about vamphile's Keeping series? In one of them, Justin has residual brain damage and needs surgery.

Just read a two-parter where he dies. Little ooc in that Brian calls him baby and hon, but it's still v.v. angsty and weepy.
