It's from a Canadian photo shoot and I think that there was an interview. There may even have been some video.

Okay, it came from this cover:

The magazine is called Xtra it is a publication in Canada - disbursed regionally. So you need find someone who perhaps scanned and posted it when it came out.

The archives at the magazane (.ca not .com) only go back to 2005. This is publicity from 2000 - 2002 I'm thinking, perhaps 2001.

Oh it does, it was inside the issue.
The best I could find is the cover.
The magazine is like the old Star or a Parade magazine - kind of more newprint that glossy magazine. There was a spread and an interview inside the magazine - I've seen a scan of it, but can't find it. If you can find the magazine - or someone who has scanned it in (I'd edit your original post or post a new request) you'll find the photos you are looking for.

The guy with the beard is Aaron Cobbett, the photographers.
These photos are from his site, which is why they are so
small -- they were rejected by Showtime and new photos
were taken.

These pics were shot by Aaron Cobbett and were the first set of
promos pictures for QAF. They did a whole series of pictures
with Gale in the black sleeveless shirt, the ones of Gale and
Randy on the sofa with that awful green rug, and the picture
they eventually used for the first episode promo, the one
of the bottom of Gale and Randy's faces, with Randy's hand
slipping into Gale's shirt.

This was also a rejected outtake from that shoot, before they
decided to cover Randy's tattoo:

Yes. The picture was also cropped to show Randy's hand

print promo.
