Brian As A Writer

I have read a lot of fics where Justin is a writer instead of an artist.  I was wondering if you awesome people could point me to good fics in where Brian is a writer instead of an ad executive.  Any help would be great!

Edit: There are some links within the comments to some good fics! Thanks to everyone that helped!

This is the first story I ever read in the QaF fandom.

Aww! :) Well, no wonder you were looking for fics like this, lol. Sadly, it's the only one I can think of that fits the bill!

This is one of the first fics that I read as well.
I waited for Julia to post each new chapter.
It is still one of my favorites.

OTOH, Moonshadow Woman has a few AU fics where Brian is a writer, professor:

This one he is a writer - not a professor, the description is wrong.

Brian is an author

I don't necessarily "recommend" much of what Ashleigh Kinnerson writes - I have a lot of issues with the amount of het sex, OOC and B/J Other Character in many of her fics. However, this fic is just Brian and Justin and Brian is an author.

Thanks for the recs!

That last story you recommended by Ashleigh, I have mixed feelings about. Namely because with her stuff you can never tell if B/J are going to end up together or not. I mean, nobody told me there was het and worse (for me at least), alot of fucking around (emotionally and physically) in her stories. I'm actually still reeling from one of her fics. It's not just the OOC-ness, or the infidelity. It's... *sigh* My fault, it's not like she didn't put up warnings. Her writing style and plot is pretty engaging though.

She actually has another story where Brian is a comic strip illustrator, and Justin's an 'Italian' lapdancer. It's pretty funny, though the story soured for me at the end. Be warned: het sex that doesn't fit into the plot. Here: http://www.ridiculouslyromantic.com/fanfiction/viewstory.php?sid=40

yes, that's why I don't really "recommend" her fic

One of the things that is disturbing about her more recent fic is things seem to be going along normally, and then out of left field you get some heavy BDSM/abuse/rape/weird relationship action.

In particular, the fic that you pointed to has a very evil/abusive Ethan who not only physically abuses Justin, but seems to make it out that Justin derives pleasure from some level of that abuse, and then he goes further to engage Brian is "playing" the abuse game with him.

YES! I know exactly what you mean! I don't know if it's meant to be a plot twist to keep the story interesting, but I find that more often than not, it diverges completely and then I get all upset with myself. But like I said, it's not like she doesn't put up warnings, it's just that people like me insist. *rolls eyes*

Yes, that fic doesn't make that much sense. Justin would never do that, hell, nobody but a whacko would do that, not after a rape. >_>

From now on, I'm sticking to 'safe' fics. Where there are no third parties. >:[

PS: I've read every single one of your fics on your netfics account. My absolute fave is the commuter flight series. Read it thrice over. Love it.

Here's one by moonshadow woman:

He's a fantasy writer with a prince. It's pretty good.

You're remembering correctly. In this one Justin is a well-known author. It's a post-bashing AU where Brian and Justin never saw each other again after the Prom. I think it takes place like 14 years later or something. It's a good fic...
