Brian and Justin are both dating a guy who is two-timing the both of them. The guy dies in a car accident and Justin and Brian meet because of him.
EDIT: FOUND! Thank you esmaro for telling me the name of the fic.

Apparently this fic is no longer on the internet but I believe when the old MW site went down Julia lost many of her fics because of her computer crashing too. I believe this was a fic that no one was able to send her. But I will contact her personally about it as I am very touchy about whether or not this falls into proper fandom etiquette. Personally I don't want my own stories uploaded elsewhere, but I know that she asked for this story and no one had it, so hopefully I'm not breaking fandom etiquette here by putting them on the 4-shared site in the sidebar.




Before anyone asks, NO I will not email it to anyone.

I remember them meeting in the hospital because Justin had been in the car with Sam. You can find it on the moonshadow tribe site. I can't remember the author or title. Sorry. Its the last place I remember reading it at.

Yeah I recall them meeting in a hospital too but wasn't sure and didn't want to lead anyone's thoughts the wrong way. I looked on MST and still haven't found it. :(

I don't think that community is for searching for fic. I think I'll wait a bit before I ask anyone personally, I'm pretty sure that if they're around they've seen this on their f-list. Hopefully I'll find it by the end of the night, otherwise I'll ask on my journal first and then others.

Thank you so much! I just needed the darn name too. Because it was possible that she'd been reading it from a document I had saved of it and it seems that was the case. THANK YOU! Now Sarah can finish reading it.

I think Julia lost all her fic a while back and no one ever found this one for her. But I have uploaded it to the 4 shared and will edit the post with that. And then also will contact Julia about it.

I would think that this is very much within fandom etiquette rules, especially since the author herself lost the fic. Plus, posting it to an off journal site like 4shared ensures that it can be found in case of a crash. That's why I'm glad that most of my fics are scattered around at various archives. I've bought 3 computers since I posted my first story, and even though I've managed to keep track of my word docs, it never hurts to have my fics somewhere else just in case.

Oh, btw, thanks for uploading the fic. We'll make sure to tag this entry for easy finding later. *g*

Hey, question: You said you didn't want your fics shared...are they located unlocked somewhere? You're pretty good about hopping into a thread if someone's looking for your stuff, but in case you're not, I'd like to know.

Okay, thanks for settling my nerves about this. I know that there are many fics that were at one time open for public viewing that to no fault of the authors, were removed from the internet usually because of a site going down and that's why we post them. But I so didn't want to be doing something that would piss anyone off. And I don't know if you remember but there was someone who taking people's friend locked fiction and other fiction from mw and posting it on their web page. I didn't want to be like that with this post.


I don't have any of my fic at archive sites because I took the old crapfic down to be rewritten into marginally better bad!fic. Not too thrilled with MW or ATP so I don't have accounts there anymore.I am trying to put together my own web page but I'm waiting to have some of my fic re-betad first. I have a few external hard drives that I update my fic on for back up, though that's risky too. I don't mind if people share my public fiction, I think only my mpreg wips and gale/randy stories are friend group locked. I don't like the bad!fic older versions shared in download sites when they are group locked on my lj until they are completed. I'm still an 'active' author so if someone did want to upload my fic somewhere I'd expect them to ask me about it first, I'm pretty easy to get a hold of. Soon I'll have everything completed on PDF's too, so it'll be even more shareable. I'm not going to be all like... "Stop looking for my fiction, only 'special' people can read my fiction because I need to make it Adam/Steve or Marysue fic. I covet my fic because if you make people believe they can't have something then they want it even more." Sorry, where was I? Hmm...

Does that answer your question, because I'm easily confused right now because of all the cold medication I'm on combined with my general 'blonde' moments.

True, of course, that you are an active writer, and people can contact you either through your LJ or PM. If something does come up where a fic is being shared that you'd rather not, let me or Court know.

And yes, I do remember that person reposting fic. I've had that happen to me a few times with my old HP fic, and lots of friends of mine have too, one just last week. Thing is, there's so much HP fic out there that people seem to think that no one would notice. Problem with that is, so many of us have been around so long that we see it and go, "Hey, that's not your fic!" One the other hand, with QAF being a smaller fandom, the same thing happens where the older fans will recognize a stolen fic even faster. Shame that that happens, but it does.

The "special people" thing just cracked me up all over again.
