(no subject)

I'm looking for a fic I read some time ago and I lost the link.

ETA: Edited because "very violent" apparently doesn't apply to this fic, but I think it's plenty disturbing.

In the fic I'm looking for, Brian is picked up by a trick that wants to go to his place but instead takes him to an alley and rapes him violently with a wooden object. Throughout the fic, Brian and Justin deal with the effects of the attack and inevitably become closer.

Sounds like Negation by Jane. It's here (http://bjfic.net/main/viewstory.php?sid=10202&warning=NC-17) on bjfic.net, but it's probably kicking around on livejournal somewhere too.

Is this it?

I am not sure this IS Negation. Negation is not terribly violent, the rape has already happened when the story opens, it's extremely well done and non-sensationalistic and realistic.

Yes, Brian is raped, yes, he's raped with an object, but we don't see/hear/read it described, we're just told it happened, more or less by the doctors when they tell Justin.

It's powerful but not "violent" in the way it sounds from your description.

I agree with Xie, and the term "very violent" doesn't do the fic justice. I've read the story at least three times, and though it depicts a violent moment, it is not graphic in that depiction. True, some people are more sensitive than others, but I think you are mischaracterizing what to me is a fine piece of writing when you use that term. It's one of my favorite B/J stories and is very well written, very powerful. It is not, imo, "very violent."

Putting it behind a cut was good of you, but I can think of fics that make Jane's wonderful story look like a children's tale, by comparison.

Just so you know, I was not offended, just concerned. I didn't want someone who's never read Jane's work to be frightened away. I can think of authors whose work I wouldwarn people away from because of the violence, but Jane isn't one of them. And that particular fic is so good!

I appreciate your response! :)
