Carl Remembers Meeting Brian As A Little Kid

...this is going to be a pretty vague one, but I read this one a long time ago and all I remember is one part where Carl is in the diner and he makes a comment (to Deb...and someone else maybe,) about having met Brian a couple of times when he was little. Only it took him awhile after meeting Brian as an adult, to figure out that it was the same kid. I think he says something about realizing back then that Brian's parents were abusive and having wanted to help him, but he wasn't able to.

I know it's not much to go on, but I don't think there's that many stories of Carl meeting young Brian, so maybe someone remembers what story this was.
