Appendix bursts! Searching...searching...FOUND!!

I'm looking for a fic in which Justin's appendix bursts and he faints in the loft, and Brian comes home to find him and rushes him to the hospital. Can anyone help?

She sent me the stories Making it Through the Summer and Making It Through Another Summer, and the story I'm looking for is Making it Through Another Summer.

So, I was wrong. Justin is found by the french guy, and becomes semi-conscious; he thinks Jean Phillipe is Brian. But this is it! But the part where he passed out was right. I googled it and found both stories here: http://deadfic.livejournal.com/29939.html

They are both really good stories and highly recommended!

Oh, and one more thing: on that page I linked is also the Abernathy Trilogy, which is REALLY good and should definitely be read, as well!

I *just* read this in the past couple of days. I think it was either in the qaf_giftxchnge or scrooged bunch of fics. (If you've never browsed those comms, there are a bunch of good fics there, and they are linked in the Sidebar.) Okay, lemme think about this a minute.

If you search these comms, it's best to do it via the archives as there are only a few entries (one around Christmas and one in the summer) each year that are actually the fics; the other posts are reminders, etc.

qaf_giftxchnge is a closed community. Do you know if it's still possible to be added? I'd really like to read the fics there. (and now of course ... especially this one :-) )

You'll have to ask to be added. It's on IJ, too, with the same name and that comm is open membership, but the 2006 Christmas fics weren't moved over and there are 53 of them.

I see it was found by the commenter below me in the 2008 set of fics for that comm. You can go to IJ to read it here (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/qaf_giftxchnge/22186.html#cutid1), then.

2008 and some, if not all, 2007 fics are there, but none of the 2006 ones.

Well, you may have read some because the authors probably posted them to bjfic or their own LJs, but there may be some new ones, and any new fic is a good thing! ;)

hrmmm... in the fic that was just linked, Justin does have appendicitis, but his appendix hasn't burst. I'm kinda thinking there may be another fic out there that's an appendicitis fic.

I know in quinn222's Fall (which I don't think she's reposted), it's Brian with the bad appendix, but I think I've read another one that's about Justin.

Well, I can't access the one starfire linked because I'm not a member, and if the one you linked was the same one, then no.

It was definitely Justin, he was unconscious, and I have a feeling Michael was involved somehow, but I'm not 100% sure.

There's a story called 'Hospital Stay' when Brian rushes Justin to the ER because of appendicitis. I remember that Brian is relieved when he finds out that the scar will be small because it means Justin won't queen out, and then there being drama when Craig gets involved (something to do with insurance), and cuteness when Gus goes for a visit. Could be the one you're looking for, but unfortunately it was on bjfic. I think that the author was Melanie. I'll let you know if I can dig up a link.

I've tried having a look on Midnight Whispers, ATP and Queer Eyes, but I haven't been able to find it yet. The author also wrote 'Anyone Can Make Scrambled Eggs', 'The Fall of Brian Kinney', and 'Merry Christmas, will you marry me?' amongst other things, but so far the only links I have been able to come up with have been for the bjfic site. I'll keep trying though because I want to read it again as well now!

I'm remembering another one (i think post-series) where Brian and Jen are sitting in the waiting room. There's a little description about them both being 100% certain it's just Justin's appendix and nothing to really stress over, but just being in the hospital brings back so many bad memories, they can't relax until the doctor comes to speak to them.

Yeah, that's not it. It was like, from Justin's POV or third POV, but focusing on Justin, he comes home, feels horrible, goes over to the bed, and then blacks once he's on it, and is still unconscious when Brian comes home and finds him. And I'm pretty pretty pretty sure that there were no holidays going on.

This is driving me crazy!

P.S. I do love the story you linked, though, I think I'll read it again.
