A fic writer had deleted her stories and asked they not be distributed. Someone had saved them and said she had them and a number of others asked for them to be sent to them.
As a writer, I posted and commented that if the writer deleted her fics, for whatever reason, and did not want them to be read, then offering to send them out in an open forum was rather uncool. The majority of posters disagreed -- they wanted the stories and felt that was the end of the discussion. But I still think an author's wishes should be honored.
