So, is there any Justin Mpreg? I've read all th one's on Bjfic and Midnight Whisper. So I really, really need some. Bonus points if Jus is in an abusive realationship.

I've been in fandom several years and I know for a fact that mpreg did not just occur recently, it has been in fandom for years and years. Perhaps it's new here in B/J fics, but mpreg is certainly very, very given in almost all fandoms and I'm talking about slash here. I think that the "mystery" behind the fascination of mpreg stories is basically the sharing of the essence of life and the creation of another life that shares the traits of two male characters. I quite agree that it might sound funny because of the male physiology. But you will be amazed at how inventive writers can be. Sometimes though, when you are reading or writing mpreg, there is no need to explain in medical detail about how a male conceives or gives birth and etc. (DUH) because everyone knows it's not possible without magic, very advanced science, divine intervention, and etc. The simplest way to write it really would be to treat the male pregnancy as any normal pregnancy without the natural delivery of course (we go c/s). So the point really is that it's really a choice whether or not one wants to undertake a fanciful, fantastical, and often heartwarming journey with the beloved characters and leave one's burdens behind for hours or NOT. I hope that answers the mystery about why mpreg continues to exist among and between fandoms.

On a side note, one of the few mpreg fics I read was in a final fantasy 8 universe, and in the end it turned out the father was a woman :|

There's another fancy detail to QAF fandom that makes it so speshul - for a fandom we have terribly little slash. The main slash movement (stop picking on that 'm' word, it's pretty!) we have is B/M, and because the notion of slash is mostly, curiously, foreign to many QAF fangirls, it's being blown up into this huge ship war everytime a B/Jer meets a B/M er.

As I said, I don't mind mpreg floating around here and there. I just think it's not compatible with this fandom. But hey, it's my opinion, get your own! *Randy's angry teeth of attack*

I deleted my first reply because I think I misunderstood yours and reacted strongly. Sorry about that. There's no need to explain QAF to me, I've been here long enough to "belong" if you know what I mean. I'm sure everyone respects your opinion because there's no argument that mpreg is not for everyone. The same way that I absolutely hate Mary Sues unless the writing is really compelling. Hey, this is my opinion too so I guess we understand each other. You know I was just trying to answer your question in my first post, so there's really no need for "you" to bare your teeth in attack and leave Randy alone (unless you are Randy, then another apology is in order). *PEACE*

ok, apparently I need to work on communication skills or the education system needs to work on reading program. Just curious - what on earth did I say to make everyone think I'm attacking anyone? I was NOT, lol. This is seriously uncanny. Like you can't even ask a question anymore without having an ulterior motive :D Look, galeandrandy wasn't offended, I think emmakinney wasn't either. And they write it, so you'd think they'd be touchy about it. Why are you all offended by a simple question?

Sorry if what I wrote sounded confusing or, dunno, patronizing, I probably offtopped a little, because I couldn't argue with your post. The thing about slash just then resurfaced in my mind and I thought I'd share because IMHO it was one of the reasons why it might be harder to advocate some ideas in qaf fandom than in others. For the record, it's not even my observation, I read it somewhere.

You know I can ask you the same thing. Yes, obviously we BOTH have to work on our communication skills probably because we don't really know each other in the first place? I wasn't really offended. Notice I made a joke on your joke? ^_^;;;

Obviously this conversation is going nowhere. It's very clear that no matter what each of us write we interpret it differently which is a good thing because it proves that every individual is unique and thinks differently. On that happy note... It's been nice talking to you, but I really don't want to prolong this. Thanks for the lively discussion. You know we should get together and write something together in the future. It would be very interesting. And I'm not being sarcastic.
