I'm looking for a fic it was posted on Midnight Whispers but I can't find it and I don't remember the author .... I think the name of it was

is that the first line of the fic, or did my download mess up and start in the middle? does anyone know?

As I recall, that is the first line of the story -- it moves back and forth in time with flashbacks. Hope this helps--I love this story.
