Uh, greetings. Apparently I am somewhat of an asshat, and I've gotten it in my head (heart?) that 510 AU's where Justin dies are the coolest thing since sliced bread. I deeply desire wishing-for-what-could-have-been!Brian.

Help a sister fellow out? :D

ETA: Links in comments to the death. Of course, now I've realized I'm one of those weepy people, so living in a hole is starting to sound nice.

I have an unhealthy obsession with death!fics. There just aren't enough out there and most people avoid them like the plague so they're hard to find. These aren't 510 death!fics, but they're other death!fics that have made me cry. Enjoy! Cry your heart out!

"Boys of Melody" by [livejournal.com profile] sweetestdrain (http://sweetestdrain.livejournal.com/78207.html)
"Reaper Boy" by [livejournal.com profile] nanowrenlet (http://nanowrenlet.livejournal.com/?skip=40) (written for NaNoWriMo 2003, it's a crossover with the show Dead Like Me, but I'd never even heard of the show and I still loved this fic)
"Every F-ing Morning" by ladybugkay (on IJ) (http://ladybugkay.insanejournal.com/18296.html) (a short piece and one of my favorites)
"Senses" by specialj67 (on IJ) (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/qaf_drabbles/202826.html) (very short)
"Better Now" by suzvoy (http://www.suzvoy.com/qaf/betternow.html)

I have to add this one even though it's not a death!fic (it gets close a couple times, but it's NOT actually a death!fic) in case you haven't read it yet. It is like the mother of all hurt/comfort fics. It's pretty long, but sooooooooo worth it. It's split into 4 parts narrated first by Ethan, then by Michael, then by Brian, then finally by Justin. Surprisingly, I almost like the first two parts best... but really the whole thing is just so fucking good you have to read it.

I keep those stories in my memories under the keyword "makes me cry" and I pull them out when I need to feel the pain.

Yes, NOTdeath!fic does have a happy ending... but have you been reading "Painting Lessons" by [livejournal.com profile] jans_intentions? It's all about Brian having severe brain damage. It's still a WIP, but it's another amazing hurt/comfort fic. I usually avoid WIPs, but that one has sucked me in.

My strange little heart thumped away at the idea of a fic with severe brain damage that was so about 'the love'. It sucked me in like a hoover. ..... I agree 100%

I haven't tried "Noir" either, but after "Painting Lessons" and "Apple" are done I might give it a chance. If it's like the rest of her stuff it's probably going to be good. Her fics are all sort of out there, but they are seriously so full of teh love it's incredible. And despite the completely random circumstances/places/setting/backstories she's still able to keep Brian and Justin in character somehow.

Oh! I love Jans stuff!

You really should read Noir though. Justin isn't really a hustler in it... it's hard to explain really. You just have to trust me.

Jan is amazing! She builds worlds I can't get enough of her stuff. And she's at her absolute best in Noir in my opinion! Go Read!

Oh she's truly amazing! The way she manages to flesh out the stories with a mythology of its own and every little aspect of the world she writes about so you'll feel like you're standing in the middle of it. Her brain is a most exciting place to visit.

Well.... Justin is sort of...well... eh... I CAN'T REALLY EXPLAIN without giving out spoilers! Let's just say that in the world of Noir there are more like him that originally was meant to please....
And Noir!Brian is more battered and bruised with more scar tissue and walls up than ever....

Justin's strong and he's brave and he's... Oh for the love of Liberty Avenue! Just go read will ya! *LOL*
