(no subject)

Several months ago I requested 2 fics and you wonderful people found them for me. One was "Everything at Once".  But I had to leave town for 2 months to take care of my mom and I cannot for the life of me find or remember what the other one was.  It was about Justin living in New York . Brian either moved there or was visiting and while at a club, he had sex with one of Justin's friends, which made our blond boy unhappy.  I feel like an idiot, but I went back as far as I could and cannot find my post.  There might be a trick to it, but I sure as heck don't know what it is.   So at the risk of looking as lame as I feel,  can you  tell me again what it was called.  I promise to  mark it in  BIG CAPITAL LETTERS and save it in 6 places so I don't lose it again.
Thanks.

ETA: Found it!  It's Announcements by Chering.

Here's (http://community.livejournal.com/getithere/205640.html) your post.
The easiest way to find posts you've made (other than putting them in your memories) is to:
-go to the community archive
-click "subjects" on the latest month
-type "ctrl+F" to find something; type in your username
-then it'll highlight it if your username is on that page.

If it's not on that page, click a month back and keep doing that until you find your posts. It'll be really quick.

Holy hell, I didn't known that! Thank you for that tip! I feel all stupid now lol

It's very useful! I've always known about ctrl+F, but it didn't occur to me to use it for something like this until about a year ago. I was doing what I assume the OP was doing as well, looking back one page at a time trying to find my username among hundreds of words and finally realized this would be easier :P It's actually most useful in this community . I can usually only remember a few key words about something someone was searching for, but now I can type in one word and usually find what I'm looking for pretty quickly :)

The fic you're looking for is Announcements (http://chering.livejournal.com/2391.html) by [livejournal.com profile] chering.

Four easy steps

[identity profile] seanmegansean.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Go to http://community.livejournal.com/getithere/310800.html

2) click on the little pen Image, which you can find at the top of your entry text.

The usual LJ mask will pop up...

3) add the sentence you want to add (e.g. ETA: Found it! It's Announcements by chering. Link in the comments, or whatever)

4) click "save entry"

That's all! Really :D

I need to make a dummy (for the dummy) LJ and play on it until I can do these things...like get a User Pic / Icon etc, but I am scared of the havoc that might cause. Yes, you do. Believe me, there is absolutely NO havoc you can cause by playing around in your own LJ. As long as you don't press delete all the time, it's really, really hard to mess anything up.

LOL You're quite welcome :) And you have no idea how scared I was to do something wrong with my LJ (or even worse a post in a community) when I came here. So, no worries, we all started out a bit chicken-ish ;)
