Justin has amnesia, forgets Brian, B watches J from afar

Read this story quite some time ago. Justin has amnesia after the prom (I think) and forgets Brian and the family. Brian and the family stay away from him (maybe his family moved away?), but Brian keeps track of his progress through a private investigator. I believe Brian sets up a fake college scholarship for J. Somewhere in the story J notices B and wonders if they know each other and they go from there. Not much to go on, I know, but like I said, it's been some time. I looked through the amnesia tags and fell down a wonderful rabbit hole, but alas, no luck finding this particular rabbit. Anyone recognize this? Thanks.
