Younger (?) Brian raises Gus alone as he goes to college, bonds with older gay couple

I remember reading (some time ago) a fic where Brian has sole custody of very infant Gus. He still goes away to college, takes care of Gus, bonds with an older gay couple. I think he rents from them. They become his surrogate parents, perhaps. I honestly don't recall Justin being in the story, but I can't imagine he wasn't. I thought it was No More Mio Amore, but that doesn't fit, and I've searched through the tags until I'm cross-eyed!  Help!! ??

2) there was a fic where justin woke up in some country in a bathtub with his kidney or something removed and brian was a cop with tattoos and he took justins case ? Justin was also a prostitute ,i think he was 16
