Adoption series and The Nephews

Looking for Two Stories:

1. Brian and Justin Go through the process to adopt a child. After they pass the screening, they are offered a baby boy about six months old. When they here the baby's name(Matthew Micheal) they know that they want him. The baby is in the hospital with a fractured skull after being abused by his Father. I believe this can be found on a Livejournal.

2. In this story, Brian receives a call about his nephews being in the hospital. They had been exposed to the fumes of a Meth lab that there Mother Claire was operating in their home. The oldest John has a heart-attack? and can't speak. He writes an apology to Brian for getting him arrested and later dies. His Brother has some lung damage but will recover. I believe they had a memorial Service for john at school.
