I also thought it was canon that Justin never knew about Brian buying the sketch. That's why it really caught my attention when I realized the sketch was in the bedroom. It made me wonder if I was remembering it wrong, since the last time I remember seeing it was like you said, when Brian was admiring it while in bed with a trick. I don't remember it ever making an appearance or being mentioned again.
Maybe it was a slip-up by whomever set up the scene. It just seemed strange for it to be on display if Justin wasn't supposed to know Brian had it.
