I've read lots of QAF fairytales (I just love them!). I'm not sure if any that I've read has "a deeper twist" like you hope but here's link for Moonshadow Tribe's Fairytale Challenge (http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Challenge/FTC.htm). There's many different kind of fairytales and I hope that you find something there! I personally loved expecially Gina's Wild Swans (http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Challenge/Fairytale/FTC19.htm) and Margaret's The Canary Prince (http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Challenge/Fairytale/FTC12.htm).
