Also any stories out there where we actually meet members of her family? Aunts, parents, nieces anything

Have you looked through the mel defends or bonds w- brian (http://getithere.livejournal.com/tag/mel%20defends%20or%20bonds%20w-%20brian) tag? There should be some fics in there for the first request :)

We do have a "mel" tag, too, but I don't know that there's anything in there that has her family members in it.
