If I remember correctly, Brian lets Gus go to a party that his moms don't want him to go to and the girlfriend, who is driving, gets into an accident. ETA - I think rainbow1907 is right... "Everything Changes" is the sequel to "Particles", so the accident could very well happen in "Particles". I guess there will just be more for you to catch up on ;-)
