FYI: US prosecutors shut down one of world’s largest file-sharing sites, Megaupload

Just a head's up, Megaupload is gone.

....so...does anyone have the "DL Lost Fics Here" all backed up somewhere?

ETA: It seems that a few people have those fics all backed up. A couple people are also willing to set up DL archives inside of their own websites. See the comments for more details.

Megaupload resurfaces?

Looks like it's making a comeback attempt.

Just imagine, if poorly thought out bills like PIPA and SOPA pass, every fanfic site could disappear, as well as things like the print-on-demand and blogging sites where I make a living selling my art, and social sites like LJ and FB.

The fallout is, potentially, so far-reaching that it could change the face of the modern world.

Scary!

If you're worried about SOPA/PIPA, advocate HARD against ACTA. I'm sure you've seen posts from your flist. It's much worse and way more broad.
