....so...does anyone have the "DL Lost Fics Here" all backed up somewhere?

ETA: It seems that a few people have those fics all backed up. A couple people are also willing to set up DL archives inside of their own websites. See the comments for more details.

Like Sam, I'd like to offer my help, not only to backup all the files, but also to use my site as a way to permanently download the fics.
As soon as I heard for Megaupload, I tried to install something helpful for the comm on my site. And this is what I came up with: QAF lost fics (http://qaf-lost-fics.kinnetiks.net/index.php)

Username: user
Password: user
(those are the simplest I could find since, unfortunately, you have to be logged to access it, but I can set up another username and password if needed, something more related to the comm for example)

I have a site for more than 10 years now, so it's not temporary and won't be deleted. Also, I have illimited bandwitch so it'll always be accessible.

Please, take a look at the site, and let me know if I should continue with it or not :)

I like the idea of this, however anyone that can log in can change or delete a file ... I don't know how comfortable I would feel if I were to upload X amount of files knowing that they might be gone the next day :\ ...

Only the admin of the site can change or delete a file. The account I created is not an admin account. I just tried and have been unable to delete a fic with the normal user account.

If you have the time and webspace to allow a clone of the DL sites' files, I think it would be awesome for you to keep a set. I'll add your link to the Sidebar. I created a 4Shared account a couple of weeks ago, but who knows if that'll last or not. More resources are always better!

I'm currently working on it: deleting the doubles (I'm backing up all the 4shared accounts of the sidebar), renaming some files... and uploading them as soon as a folder is done :)
Might take a few days, but it's going to be ready very soon! I'll PM you with the correct link and infos when everything will be ok.

If you back up the GIH 4Shared link, that has all the fics from the other two 4shared links plus 55+ more fics that members have uploaded in the past week so you don't have to do the other two links if you haven't already done so. There are a few dupes in the GIH account that I haven't deleted yet, but everything else is in order.
