Mod Post: DL sidebar and Megaupload

I received a PM from a member saying that the first DL folder on the sidebar isn't working.

Here's the reason:

Megaupload Victim Of DNS Seizure

No idea when or if the site will return. If anyone finds additional info on this, please make a post. Giving blanket permission on this because lots of people use MUL for fics, pics and other things.

From your source:
Update 30th Nov: MegaUpload inform us that there was indeed a nameserver issue affecting the site but there is nothing to worry about and everything is back to normal.

In rare cases it might take a while for every DNS server around the world to be updated (rarely up to 48 hours) but normal service should have already been resumed.

So if it isn't already up it should be within 48 hours or so.

Let me just take this opportunity to encourage EVERY American reading this to CALL THEIR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVE and register their outrage against the bills in Congress right now that pretty much want to shut (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/11/28/1040530/-Congress-is-close-to-destroying-the-internet-%28no-hyperbole%29) down (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/11/28/1040628/-PROTECT-IP-SOPA-is-worse-than-Kos-said) the interwebz (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/11/28/1040582/-Wyden-Will-Filibuster-The-Destruction-Of-The-Internet-And-Read-Your-Name-From-Senate-Floor) as we know and love it.

Seriously, check the links above. As the title of one post says, this is not hyperbole; LJ, FB, Tumblr, Twitter, blogs, YouTube, you name it, most sites that keep us connected would be affected. Please take a moment to contact your members of Congress, and sign Sen. Ron Wyden's petition, too.

From: http://torrentfreak.com/dns-seizure-takes-out-megaupload-111129/ :

Windows 7 users: (same DNS settings for Vista, XP, Mac etc, just different route)

Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet [View network status and tasks] -> Change adapter settings, right click on a connection -> Properties -> Internet protocol version 4 -> Properties

Use the following DNS Servers:

8.8.4.4 --- 8.8.8.8
