Hi!

Does anybody know why the link to the "old" queer eyes site isn´t working anymore?

http://www.qafcaps.com/queereyes/index.html - this link led to the site where ALL of the old fics could be found; the link which leads to the non-completed version is still working.

I could swear that I used the link in question just a few days ago and it worked.

This one is working fine for me, too, but the archive isn´t completed anymore, all authors whose names started with B to I, for instance, aren´t listed there anymore. And they are NOT all gone to the new queer eyes site.

The link I used was, btw, the one which is listed here on GIH under Fic Archives "queer eyes original site clone".

I hope it was ok to post this question here? It´s my first time... .-)))

Your reply is confusing me (= Computer Dumbie) for another reason: it´s the first time I saw an IP Adress posted under the LJ name. Is that ok?

They were moving fic to the new site, I don't know what happened to the other stuff. It's a pain that half the fics are missing. Hopefully they'll show up in one place or the other.

I'm always really sad when authors/fics are suddenly gone. Of course it is everyone's right to leave and delete his/her journal. But often this is coming from "older" authors and I'm wondering whether they are aware about the fact that they are still a very very strong and loved part of this fandom. Some probably don't know this but think they are long forgotten because there are only few or even none new comments to their stories at all.

The authors didn't pull them, I don't think. Not sure about that, tho. I thought that they'd gotten lost in the transfer.

As far as I know is this the link to the new archive site. Sadly not all authors/fics from the old queer eyes site are still listed in the new archive. I always suck with names so probably I don't have the name correct but in the old archive have been for instance the fics by bloodyrose82? which started right after 513 and were named 514, 515 etc. I remember having seen the fics from this author for sure but they haven't been transferred to the new site. But that's only an example.
Maybe I can find out who the mod of the old site has been.

Pet is absolutely right. Something is terribly wrong with the site. I don't have the exact numbers, but a LOT of authors are missing from the list that used to be on queereyes before. I know for a fact that plumsuede used to be listed there, or Myrna. Neither one I can find on the list of authors anymore. But since the fics can still be found via google and they do work if you access them through the search engine, I am tempted to think that it's a glitch in the list. A lot of other links on queereyes don't work either. At least they don't for me. Seems like a coding related problem or something.

That one's my fic index with all the original fic! Sorry, I'm still working on removing the virus that managed to get itself on several of the pages. There are a lot of links so it takes time to look through every single one of them.

A few months ago, there was a malware virus installed on several sites. Inside the virus was a Bible verse so I suspect that they were targeting adult sites since I have the screencaps on there. I was able to remove the virus from the caps link but haven't gone through paddies old site yet. It'll definitely be up again though will all the original links in the future!

I'm probably the only one in the fandom who doesn't know, so please excuse my silly question: are you the mod/owner of queer eyes? Because I had planned to search for him/her, LOL.
I'm sorry, I didn't know about the virus. Sh...! But I believe and hope that you are handling this bastard pretty good and your statement that the old site will be up again after deleting the virus makes me hope and a very happy fangirl! Thank you for the information and the work and good luck!!!

Oh, I'm not! But, I know the original owner of the site (paddies) and she gave me permission to mirror her site on my site - qafcaps.com. I did this because all the fic was being moved to a new archive and I wanted the stories to remain as is. It's just a mirror site where nothing new is being added. It's just restored to what the original site looked like.

Thank you! The mirror site will definitely be back when I have more time to work on it.

Okay, I totally forgot that you were the one handling the mirror site. I'm glad.

Hope that all the original files are restored, I remember starting at A once and reading my way down. I think I made it to E before I got side-tracked by Myrna. lol There's only one other site that I did that with, the old Potter Snape Archive. That and QE are the two archives that I know I'm getting the best of what those fandoms had to offer.

Hee, I am! Yeah, I like it that way too. Gio had excellent taste and she wanted to share it. I think that it should've stayed that way. There are a million files so it's just taking some time to go through all of them to find the Bible Virus, as I'm calling it.
