1great_escape was telling me earlier today about one of those fics where Mel and Lindsay die, and Brian gets custody of Gus. This one, unlike the majority of these fics, was actually finished! Not only that, but it has sequels.

That's all I know about this story. I don't know how Mel and Linds die in this one or what Justin is to Brian, but if anyone has any ideas at all, please send them this way! I definitely want to read this :\

This is probably bigboobedcanuck's wonderful story Out from Inside (http://bigboobedcanuck.livejournal.com/272279.html). Its sequel, To Face Unafraid is linked at the end of the first story.

There is one out there. I think. They die, Justin is there(babysitter),it's his birthday dinner they are driving home from. He gets Gus out of the car. so Brian takes care of him.
There is another one where they die as well as Jr and Justin thinks it;s his fault because of Chris Hobbs, again Brian takes care of him. Sorry I can't give you links but maybe someone will read this and know where to go

Draccone wrote a fic called Just Waiting. Brian and Justin are both cops. Brian is straight but falls in love with Justin. Mel and Lindz do die in this one and he gets custody. Could be what you're looking for...
