I'm looking for fics which contain/center around court.

It can be the Chris Hobbs trial, a custody hearing for Gus, etc.

I would just like Brian and/or Justin to be one of the witnesses.

There's a series with "sunshine" in all the titles, including "raging sunshine" I think. Man, this is frustrating. I am at a place with HEAVILY blocked internet access, so I just can't access my bookmarks to find stuff. This series is unfinished at last check, and au, but it did have quite a few court scenes. I'll check back when I get home, and if this hasn't been clarified, I'll find the links. Sorry, but maybe that will get someone started.

Kaite's "Changing Family Dynamics" is a good one. It is on a yahoo site so it won't be around much longer. I find myself going back to reread it every few months. Warning though that if you are a Mel, Lindsey, Michael or Debbie lover (especially Mel), then you won't like it. Is this the one where Brian is on the witness stand and he's seriously being raked over the coals about his past? I think his own mother testifies against him? I liked that one.

No, Brian's mom doesn't testify in this fic. This fic is the one where Brian and Justin find Gus wandering the street on his birthday because everyone else was ignoring him and making a fuss over JR and Gus thinks that Mel & Linds don't want him anymore. Brian has tried to bring this to the attention of the girls but they blow it off as Gus being jealous of JR, when that really isn't it. One night M&L leave JR with a neighbor and forget about Gus and leave town, Gus calls B&J to help him. Brian takes him and won't give him back. Mel & Lindsey are the ones that get raked over the coals in court. Most of the family is vehemently on the girls side at first, except for Ben and Emmett (and Vic somewhat). Ben & Michael break up over it. Debbie fires Justin from the diner for supporting Brian, etc. The story is aptly titled because it does indeed change the family dynamic forever.

I vaguely remember a fic where Brian's mom does testify, but can't remember much other than that. If anyone remembers that one, I would like to check it out again myself.
