Post 513 and caretaker!Brian
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for two kinds of fics. First, any well written, in character fics set post season five that really give an insight into Brian and Justin's relationship. (I have Beyond the Yellow Brick Road in mind as an example of the type of fic I'm looking for.)
And, second, I'm looking for any fics where Justin is ill (any type of illness, colds to cancer) and Brian is placed (forced?) into the role of caretaker, for better or worse. I've already checked out memories, h/c, google...I've already read IYNM, obviously, and ragingpixie...but if anyone has anything, I thought I'd throw that request out.
Thanks so much!
eta: There are a few links for both requests in the comments, but more would definitely be welcome. Thanks, again!

Simon's Remission is a major angst Justin/cancer death/fic and extremely good I think. He's at Moonshadow Tribe and the story is based on a real life story.

Apparently, Simon was so ahead of the times that when he posted Remission he received over a hundred comments, most of them flames, not because of his writing, obviously, but because it was a death/fic. The negative response was one of the main reason, apparently, for his leaving here. I rec him whenever I can and I am very glad you felt as I did. And to know that he was actually following the girl's life, if she would have lived so would've Justin...so powerful.

The medical detail was really astonishing. I've never come across a fic that went into such *correct* detail about a treatment plan, symptoms, etc. (I'm kind of finicky about that - I'll be finishing up an internship in pediatric cancer biology, and then getting an MD in pediatric oncology, so I'm pretty interested/informed on the subject). Most good cancer fics are fairly accurate, but vague.
Anyway. It really saddens me that people flamed him, even though he made it extremely clear that he wasn't deciding Justin's fate - merely translating it. It was a very powerful way to acknowledge Lisa's courage.
I totally would have fangirled him too. :)
