Period stories

I'm looking for fics from the past. Pirates, cowboys, Roman soldiers, anything that would be considered a "period piece". I've read The Abernathy Trilogy, Edge of the World, Brian!Gangster boss, and most of the usually recommended stories. Anything new or really different out there?

have you read 'as if i'd always slept' by niquita_gia? it's a wip, but she updates frequently and it's an amazing story. it might be f-locked, i'm not sure.

I've read one that's kind of what you're looking for. Maybe. Except I can't remember the title or author. Maybe someone will, though.

This is B/J in current time but Justin is having horrible dreams of him and Brian in dire straits in different time periods. He's working for an elderly bookstore or antique store owner and tells him about the dreams. Somehow they figure out that these dreams are real and Justin's got to do something to solve this issue/curse this time around or they'll die. That might not be totally accurate; it's been a long time since I've read it. Anyway, the story skips between now and these past lives, so it may fit what you're looking for if somebody can remember the author and title.
