(no subject)

A couple of things,

One: I remember reading a fic where Brian makes Justin work at the Diner to pay off the charges on his credit card but then Brian says to Justin that he isnt supposed to enjoy it because it's punishment. Also, Justin wants to know when his debt is finally paid off because he wants to buy something with the money he has been earning. But Brian tells him that he wants him to put it in an account at the bank. It might be apart of a long fic or it might be a short one, I'm not too sure. Any ideas?

Two: Does anyone have the links for The Long Way by (I believe) [livejournal.com profile] ragingpixie or [livejournal.com profile] bigboobedcanuck? I looked through the memories for both but all the chapters are not there.

Thanks in advance!

**Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] fenwic and [livejournal.com profile] leelee2005 for helping me**
**Thanks to everyone else who has commented. Several great authors are mentioned**

Hmmm, I'm seeing links to all the chapters here (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=bigboobedcanuck&keyword=QAF+Fic&filter=all) (bottom of the page).

#1 is With Interest (http://morpheusqaf.com/WithInterest.html) by morpheusqaf

Yes. Morpheus' With Interest. Sweet story...

With Interest is first generation QAF fanfic, along with stories by
Miss Miko, Rizabeau, Haiphiston Lo, Trisky, and my all time favorites,
Mesa and Sandra Gia. These writers have a clear romantic vision of Brian and Justin..Great broads. They knew their queers.
Later generations have taken great liberties with our guys. They crippled, they have amnesia, they're blind, they're in the CIA, they're pregnant (ugh), lately they're in Afganistan.
Entirely different world view.. Often just as good, but different.

I agree..totally. I was trying to be be gentle..I don't want the
wrath of the younger generation reigning down on me. It's happened
in the past. It's not pretty.
For unmitigated laughs, ask Mcpofife to let you read her Charlotte
stories. The stories are flocked or locked or whatever it is, but
she's worth pleading with..Soooo delicious..
The pregnant thing cuts across a lot of fandoms, I think. It's not
original with QAF. It's beyond awful...

I've read all of the authors you mention, except Mesa. Do you have links to her stuff?

You can ad Gaedahl to that list, too (IMHO).

You know, I've read all this stuff (and more) except the pregnant and Afganistan (WTF?) and it didn't seem so bad until it was all lumped together!
:) Thanks for the laugh.

I love all the old timers you mentioned, except I think Mesa is new to me. I'll have to look for her. Thanks.

Here's the link to her website: http://members.aol.com/gaelmcgear/fanfictionpage.html

Start with "Queer Theories" (complete), then "Queer Realities" (complete), and then "Queer Identities" (WIP). There are other "streams" you can read, and they're all great!

She also has an lj and a yahoo group.

Enjoy!

PS - thanks for the Mesa info!

I can recommend a few of my favorite authors, but honestly I'm too tired to look for links (14 hour Fridays suck). So if that's ok, I adore soundczech (Subject to Change), ragingpixie (Divergence is a killer), everything bigboobedcanuk, rhiannonhero (Omlet), and of the newer authors everyone knows vamphile and Xie, but besame_bj is good and angsty, long involved stories, and if you want to laugh check out slave_o_spike or The Church of Brian and Justin (I think that's the right name). Good luck, hope I could help.

"Queer Theories" is comlpete, as is it's
sequel, "Queer Realities."

"Medium Security" is complete, but that might
be too AU for your tastes. I'd suggest
"The Angel Stream." Links are on the pages
cited.

Go to Queer Eyes, Paddies' website. But I warn you, you'll get lost
in there.. It's the best QAF fanfic site there is.
I envy you reading Mesa for the first time. Her "No Regrets" is arguably the best QAF fanfic we have.
Who do you like aside from Gaedahl?..I agree, she's splendid..
You might look into my pals, Fansee and Chering if you haven't yet..They are superb.
Happy trails...Sarah

I love Fansee and Chering! They're stuff is great!

Why should I be offended?

No problem at all. Browse around and see if
there's anything you like. I never lock my
stories.

I would add one of the queens of the early gapfillers,
Sue Walsh.

Also, for the second generation of fic writers (I'd say
that we're on about the 6th or 7th generation now),
Just Visiting.

Mesa really only wrote one story -- "No Regrets."
When you get it right the first time, that's all
you really need.
