Brian and Justin are globe trotting

Alright, I know I say this all the time, but I can not remember title or author. I'm really surprised that I even remember the stories.
Brian and Justin take a year to travel. There were maps, greenish in color I think, at the beginning of some chapters, maybe even letters sent back home.
I'm stumped. I thought it may have been by pfodge but it isn't one of hers.
Any ideas?
