I hope I remember this one scene right...

Brian was supposed to have Gus around Christmas but Lindsay calls and cancels. I think Brian is sitting at Britin talking to her. Justin is in NYC but I believe he comes home. I wish I remembered more...

No, I don't thing so. I skimmed the first 12 chapters and I don't think that's it. I remember Brian sitting at Britin alone and he's making drunken phone calls and I think part of the reason they won't let Gus visit is because Brian is alone now and they trust him to handle Gus alone now that Justin is in NYC.

I hope I'm not mixing 2 stories.
