I just wanted to say that from my own view point you did absolutly nothing wrong or for that matter written anything wrong and there is pretty much nothing to apologize for. When I saw your post I was like 'hmmmm, whats that' since I love to read pretty much anything (except cheese graters in action) and have never heard of this book(book series) so anyways this doesn't mean I don't read BDSM...if it's good writing and researched and has Brian and Justin's consent I am all for it. There are quite few fics with just a few BDSM scenes that are in my opinion just YUUUUUUM but since I have a memory of a freaking gold fish on crack I can't provide you the links, titles or authors besides the ones I mentioned above.
I can assure you that if you find any of my 'disability to shut my cakehole' ie comments above or this particular one disrespectful or aimed at you personally let me know and I will take them down.
On another note, I can personally say that this is a great community despite the occasional rants that go on but are usually funny as hell and respectful (except that one time when I managed to insult quite a few people in one of my posts and yet they still speak to me...I am awed and humbled. LOL at myself). I especially enjoy the effort people make in this community to take time to rec, share opinions, provide summaries, warnings and discuss pretty much anything under the sun. Hell, getithere is most likey my second best friend. ROFL.
Reading a few bits of 50 shades I was off put mainly because of 'second-hand' life experiences concerning domestic abuse and thus it didn't sit well with me since there is a very thin line between 'abuse' and 'let's explore limits in the bedroom' in fiction and/or life. In BDSM, usually, one partner is aroused by the pleasure, trust, secure vunerability (main components of love if you will) that he/she sees and gets from the other partner and vice versa and not from a total power slash utter satisfaction of one partner at the humiliation of the other which he/she may not enjoy at all. The dynamics are supposed to go both ways. When it's about total power (in my opnion), it's rape and a deep psychological issue of the character/s in the fictional work and/or a badly researched BDSM dynamic.
